Florida Love

Yup, nope, not that Florida... :)



















Florida (Spanish pronunciation: [floˈɾiða], Flowery) is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) located north of Ciales, south of Barceloneta, east of Arecibo, and west of Manatí. Florida is spread over one ward and Florida Pueblo (The downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. [1]

So close to Arecibo... ;)

Some folks see through a certain lens that they believe so strongly, others see through another lens. When you watch the news back in the states, you hear all the desperate cries that have gone unheard... but being here it seems the truth is stranger than the fiction of what's being told back in the states.

I can tell you only what I see, so here goes...

I see love in many forms,

love in the form of being together and in family,

























I see love in the form of nursing.



I see love in the form of providing medicines and vaccines.



I see love in the form of giving.









I see love in the form of security.











I see love in the form of sacrifice.



Sometimes seeing is believing, but (imho) the majority of the time, believing is seeing...

The essence lies somewhere between where the sun rises and the lightning strikes, somewhere between where the heart beats and the spirit sings.

The Puerto Rican people are coming together stronger than ever, with strong sense of faith in God, family and community.

La música, me llama

The music, it calls to me... Most folks here are taking an extremely horrible situation and adding lots of sunshine. We supported this event with IP communications, power and later on in the evening lighting. ¡Me encanta! Video Link Since there is no power, I lit up the field so the kids to play, many were doing cartwheels and enjoying cool breeze off the water as the sun went down. Link to Drone Video Make no mistake supporting this feel good effort is in no way going to prepare for what's in store for Monday... We're heading into the swath of devastation starting next week. Corozal and this effort helps us get the vehicles ready for the next phase. In an upcoming blog I'll discuss a little bit about the challenges with providing broadband internet in areas with now power or communications.

Generic Access Network or GAN Test

Today after we got Liberty One up and running I wanted to conduct a little test of Generic Access Network or GAN, also called Unlicensed Mobile Access or UMA, and is the commercial name used by mobile carriers for external IP access into their core networks. The latest generation system is named Wi-Fi Calling by a number of handset manufacturers, including Apple and Samsung, a move that is being mirrored by other carriers. This Wi-Fi Calling can be enabled usually in your settings->cellular menu. While in a moving vehicle, Gabby Palerm called Francisco Herrero today while on airplane mode and connected wirelessly to our WiFi hotspot which is then connected to our Satcom setup.
