Generic Access Network or GAN Test

Today after we got Liberty One up and running I wanted to conduct a little test of Generic Access Network or GAN, also called Unlicensed Mobile Access or UMA, and is the commercial name used by mobile carriers for external IP access into their core networks. The latest generation system is named Wi-Fi Calling by a number of handset manufacturers, including Apple and Samsung, a move that is being mirrored by other carriers. This Wi-Fi Calling can be enabled usually in your settings->cellular menu.

While in a moving vehicle, Gabby Palerm called Francisco Herrero today while on airplane mode and connected wirelessly to our WiFi hotspot which is then connected to our Satcom setup. The test was better than good, it was great! Test Good! Cheers!
